The Family Business Consulting Group welcomes Lisa M. Morel as its newest member specializing in the design and implementation of family and corporate governance structures with business-owning families. She is FBCG’s first team member from Latin America with years of practice in multicultural environments. Lisa is now based in Miami, Florida, and will serve family enterprise clients across North and Latin America.
“It is both an honor and a pleasure to join such a high-impact, multidisciplinary team committed to helping families across the world continue to build their family legacy,” said Lisa.
Lisa has guided families across Latin America and now the United States to create family charters, implement family councils, build corporate boards with independent directors, draft policies for succession planning and develop the next generation. As a second-generation member of a family business and vice-president of its foundation, she brings first-hand experience of the challenges and joys of working together and navigating multiple roles.
“Lisa is a multitalented consultant who has built upon her experiences in her own family business with experience in law, strategy, governance and family facilitation,” said Kristi Daeda, president of The Family Business Consulting Group. “We’re excited to bring her many skills and international background to the FBCG team in service of our clients.”
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Family Firm Institute. Prior to joining FBCG, Lisa successfully led a family business consulting firm in the Dominican Republic, where she received the National Association of Young Business Leaders “Outstanding Member Award” for her work in promoting family business continuity in the country. Lisa has been included in the ranking of Mercado Magazine’s “Top Forty Under Forty” and among its list of “20 Women Gamechangers.”
She is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law with a Masters in Corporate and Financial Law and is admitted to the New York Bar. She received her law degree summa cum laude from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, holds a Master’s degree in Droit International des Affaires from Université Patheón-Assas Paris II and an executive MBA from Barna Business School. She is accredited with a Certificate in Family Business Advising.
Welcome to the team, Lisa!
